My Story
I used to ask myself a question: "If I could give my family one special earthly gift, what would it be?" There were so many answers that I could give depending on who I was answering for. As a mom of eight, I wanted to be able to be there for my family. We lived a very frugal lifestyle and only dreamed of one day becoming debt-free.
On March 26, 2008, all this would begin a step toward this dream. This day I was introduced to Scentsy. The satin black warmer and lilac &violets bar were set up in my kitchen. I think it was more about the simplicity of the product that caught my attention. I loved this cute little warmer and thought throughout the day about how I could sell these. That night I joined Scentsy. It took a couple months for me to get motivated, but after attending Scentsy's national convention, I saw what this business was doing for others and I knew in my heart I was going to make it happen for my family too. Since then, there has been no turning back.
As a homeschool mom of eight wonderful children, I desperately needed a way to make an extra income for our family. We had a new home, car loans, and other bills that had to be paid. My husband, being a music minister, did not bring in enough money to support our family alone. I really needed something that I could do alongside him. Little did we know that Scentsy would be our answer! Trent, my husband, was not sold on Scentsy immediately, but as he saw my business grow he started to see the passion that was growing in me.
There always has to be a mountain to climb over so as fear and unbelief would come, I had to remind myself that if I did not share Scentsy with the people I would meet, someone else was going to. This has been a tool that I have used to help lead and train my team. As I began sharing Scentsy, I realized that this amazing new business was a blessing to those I shared it with. It began to be a part of my family's life, as well as my own. When my husband and children started seeing the difference it was making in our lifestyle, they started catching the vision, or the Scentsy virus. I never really dreamed of taking a vacation with my husband to Hawaii or a top-of-the-line family vacation to Disney World, but Scentsy is birthing new dreams in us and making these things happen. As we continue to pay off debt and do things we have never dreamed of, I am proud to be a part of a company that gives more than they take.
